Financing models for Residential Energy Efficiency in Bosnia and Herzegovina

As a part of REELIH project supported by USAID, ENOVA together with Habitat for Humanity organized a conference “Jump-Start REE”: Financing models for Residential Energy Efficiency in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Effective financial model needs to address both social gaps and incentivize house owners to invest. That is why this conference brought together the key stakeholders including governmental, as well as domestic and international financial institutions.

German-Ukrainian cooperation:complex energy saving rehabilitation of multi-apartment buildings

There is need to reduce energy costs in ukraine,however to do it, it is necessary to modernize the housing stock. The latest legislative changes in Ukraine and the introduction of the first financial mechanisms to implement certain energy-efficient measures confirm the correct direction of the reforms. But only a complex energy-saving reorganization of the housing stock will significantly improve the efficiency of the reforms initiated.

Introducing Level(s): A common language to understand sustainability in European buildings

The European Commission demonstrated its sustainability leadership by unveiling the pilot phase of Level(s), the world’s first region-wide sustainable building reporting tool. Level(s) has high ambitions, aiming to transform the European building market from its current role as a major contributor to climate change, to one which has more positive impacts on both the environment and society.

REELIH Conference through the eyes of a young researcher

I could participate at the conference Reducing Energy Poverty by Energy Efficiency Projects in Residential Buildings: The Case for Eastern Europe organised by Habitat for Humanity with the support of USAID. The conference not only offered the audience a deeper insight in the most important outcomes of the REELIH project but it also presented the issue of energy poverty and energy efficiency in its whole complexity.
